The agreement

Family Trees is provided by C6 Labs. By using the app you agree to these terms. Apple's Standard End User License Agreement also applies to apps bought from the App Store, and where it conflicts with these terms, it wins.

Plans and payment

Family Trees is free to use with one tree of up to thirty people. Two purchases remove the limits, unlock GEDCOM import and export and print-quality tree exports as PDF and PNG, and take the footer off share cards:

Plus — $39.99 per year. An auto-renewing subscription with a 7-day free trial for new subscribers. The trial includes everything in Plus.
Lifetime — $129 once. A one-time purchase, not a subscription. It never renews and never expires.

Both purchases cover iPhone and iPad on the same Apple ID. Prices are shown in your local currency in the app.

Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation. Plus renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends, and your Apple ID is charged for renewal within 24 hours of the period ending. Manage or cancel in Settings → your name → Subscriptions. If you cancel during the free trial, you are not charged; any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.

Your data is yours

You own everything you put into the app. We claim no rights over it, and we have no copy of it. If your subscription lapses, everything you added stays on your device, and you can keep viewing and editing it. Adding people or trees beyond the free limits, GEDCOM import and export, and tree exports need an active Plus subscription or Lifetime.

What the app does not do

Family Trees is a tool for recording what you know about your family. It does not search historical records, verify anything you enter, or offer genealogical or legal advice. Accuracy is yours to judge.

Acceptable use

Do not use the app to store or share material that is unlawful, or to record information about living people who have asked you not to. You are responsible for what you enter and for anything you share.

Warranty and liability

The app is provided "as is". We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the extent the law allows, our liability is limited to what you paid in the twelve months before the claim. Keep your own backups: an iCloud or computer backup of your device includes the app's data, and with Plus or Lifetime you can also export your family as a GEDCOM file.
