Fan chart family tree template
Short answerA fan chart shows your ancestors as rings in a half circle around you: parents in the first ring, grandparents in the second, and so on. The father’s line fills the left half and the mother’s the right. This template has five generations. Family Trees draws fan charts automatically, with portraits in the inner rings.

How to fill it in
- Write your name under the hub at the bottom.
- The first ring holds your father (left) and mother (right).
- Each slot splits into two in the next ring: that person’s father on the left half, mother on the right.
- Outer rings get narrow; write surnames there and keep full details on a separate list.
